Fight Against Colon Cancer Trivia Night & SILENT AUCTION

A benefit for the Siteman Cancer Center in St. Louis, will be holding a silent auction at our trivia night on Saturday, April 7, 2012 at Royal Orleans in St. Louis, MO. Siteman Cancer Center is the only cancer center in Missouri and within a 240-mile radius of St. Louis to hold the prestigious Comprehensive Cancer Center designation from the National Cancer Institute.  Siteman offers the expertise of more than 350 Washington University research scientists and physicians who provide care for more than 8,000 newly diagnosed cancer patients each year, far more than any other cancer program in the region. All of the funds raised from this event will be used to support Siteman Cancer Center’s work in our local community. On the Way to Healthier Indoor Air Quality

Americans spend 90% of their lives indoors.  The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency first reported this finding to Congress in 1989. Since then, the U.S. Green Building Council has been helping people make indoor air quality a high priority. The April 10 meeting speaker, Paul Bates, is a leader in indoor air quality issues. As Market Outreach Manager for GREENGUARD, he has delivered over 100 sustainably-oriented programs about indoor air quality issues. GREENGUARD is an industry independent, non-for-profit organization which oversees 3rd party GREENGUARD certification programs.  For example, the voluntary organization provides The Green Environmental Institute with the guidelines for mold and moisture prevention during construction projects.
